Meet Author Toni Tapp Coutts – A Reading Hour Special Event
Born and raised in the NT, Toni Tapp Coutts has had a varied career, from living on cattle stations, riding in campdrafts and barrel racing, to owning a variety store in outback Borroloola.
Her first memoir, A Sunburnt Childhood, was published in 2016 and quickly became an Australian bestseller.
Toni joins us to discuss her books and her life growing up in the Territory.
Books will be available for purchase at the event. Toni will be signing books after the Q&A.
The Reading Hour is on Thursday, September 20, 2018. This is a national event that encourages everyone to stop what you’re doing for one hour and pick up a book. We want Australians to either rediscover or introduce themselves to the benefits of reading. Take the time to learn, grow, escape and relax. In children, reading has been shown to help with identity formation, setting them up for success in the future. In adults, reading has been shown to reduce stress by 68% more than listening to music, going for a walk, or having a cup of tea.
